These postcards were created from flowers that were collected in the course of a twelve-month caravan trip around Australia in 2025. Inspired by the Japanese tataki-zome tradition, natural dyes were released from the flowers by pounding with a hammer, or by running the flowers through a miniature press. ​

Whilst travelling around Australia in a caravan in 2025, I collected frottages (rubbings) from found surfaces that I encountered along the way with coloured pencil on kozo paper.  These will ultimately be bound into an artist book that archives my literal impressions of the shifting landscapes over the course of this twelve-month odyssey, and (hopefully!) the epic vastness of the Australian continent. These 'en plein air' shots capture the frottage process in action.
